Lingerie Recommendations (AKA the most fun part of planning your boudoir session)
Hiii!
So, I’m no stranger to the late nights trying to decide what to wear the next day. For your boudoir session, you don’t want to be stressing like crazy the week or day before your session with no idea on what to wear. So, here’s where I come in!
First of all, if you would rather scroll through sites yourself, here’s some amaaaazing ones:
- Etsy
- Adore Me
- Victoria’s Secret
- Bare Necessities
- Tutti Rouge
- La Perla
- Agent Provocateur
- Lonely Label
- Oh la la Cherie
The number one question I get before the session is what I recommend to wear. Here’s a little list that should help! Click the product photos for links. :)
1. Try to go with something you’re comfortable with, while also pushing your boundaries at least a little.
Picking something that’s neutral-toned, not too revealing, and fits your style is PERFECT, especially for your first boudoir session. I’ve linked some pretty easy, but also super fun bodysuits and sets for ya right here so you have some good options to pick from!
2. Play around with fabrics!
Are you more drawn to solid fabrics, lace, leather, satin, netting, sheer? No single one is more flattering than another - it’s all up to you! I do recommend though that if you pick a solid fabric, try to find one that mixes it up a little bit - solid and sheer, or maybe with cut-outs! This just gives it a little more shape. Also, solid fabrics that have a little shine help with this too - like satin!
Here’s some cool fabrics I’ve found:
3. Find colours and shapes that feel like you!
There’s so many different shapes and colours to pick between. It’s best to pick colours that are toned down or neutral, as these colours photograph really well, and they also don’t affect your skin! Colours like lime green or fushia can change how your skin looks, unfortunately, so I recommend staying away from them for your shoot!
Here’s some coloured lingerie options:
4. If you choose a set, make sure it matches!
Nothing dampens the look of a beautiful new bra for your boudoir shoot than bottoms that just don’t match! Lingerie shops often have bottoms to match perfectly with your new top, and it’s definitely worth the investment!
BONUS TIP: Don’t be scared of accessories!
This is where you can personalize a little extra! Bring a robe, thigh-high tights, garters, anything you’re into!
Plus, if you want to do some implied nudes or full nudes, accessories add a little extra flair :)
I hope this blog has helped you at least a little! If you need further advice, I’m here for ya - any questions at all!
